Discover Nuns Canyon Vineyard: Experience wines from one of California's first mountain vineyards and most remarkable volcanic sites. Perched dramatically on the western slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains between 1,200 and 1,600 feet elevation, Nuns Canyon spans 110 acres of stunningly steep terrain shaped by ancient volcanic eruptions and lava flows.

The vineyard's red iron-rich soil, underlain with gravel and fractured basalt, creates pristine micro-terroirs where Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, and Sauvignon Blanc thrive. Cooled by high-elevation coastal winds and situated within the Moon Mountain District appellation, these vines have been completely dry-farmed and certified Biodynamic since 2018.

This unique terroir produces Hamel's most elevated and purest expression of volcanic character—wines that capture the essence of one of California's great mountain vineyard sites located six miles north of the Hamel Family Ranch.
