The origin of wines in Portugal seems to date back to around 2000 BC, when the mythical and hypothetical civilization of Tartessos flourished, using it as its currency of exchange.

Today, 31 Appellations of Origin and 12 Geographical Indications are currently recognized and protected in Portugal.

This auction lot is for an In-person Portuguese wine tasting of 6 wines with Eugenio Jardim, a native of Brazil and currently an Independent Wine Consultant, Sommelier and Wine Educator in the US, Portugal and Brazil. He also acts as the Brand Ambassador for Ernest Vineyards, a new and exciting boutique Sonoma Coast producer.  Eugenio has built a reputation for seeking out the new and exciting wines of the world and for his fun but professional, educational and non-threatening approach to wines, creating an enjoyable experience rather than an intimidating one.

Eugenio Jardim will come to your home if located within 10 miles of Sausalito, or GWEF Board Member Mahesh Tirupattur will host you and your guests at his SOMA home.
