This package includes a magnum of 2018 Arietta H Block Hudson Vineyards + a tasting experience of Arietta Wines at Hudson Vineyards.
2018 Arietta H Block
Crafted from Cabernet Franc vines planted on a volcanic outcropping in 1986, and adjacent Merlot planted in the same year in clay-loam, the “H Block” has always been regarded as Arietta’s signature wine, paying great respect to the wines we love from the Right Bank of Bordeaux. The 2018 vintage is 56% Cabernet Franc and 44% Merlot, and would certainly stand with the best of the twenty-one previous vintages. Effusively aromatic, the wine is packed with notes of red raspberry, nutmeg, cumin, licorice, and slow-toasted oak. It is both energetic and rich, with the ripe fruit flavors flowing across the palate and pulling the complex spice notes with it. Aged for twenty months in 100% new French oak barrels and bottled without fining or filtration, the wine is deep and delicious, with the structure and weight that will allow it to age for decades.

We are grateful to have the opportunity to produce our wines and host our subscribers for tastings at the state-of-the-art and beautifully appointed Hudson Winery. Arietta has purchased grapes from the Hudson Ranch since our very first vintage in 1996, when we blended Cabernet Franc from the Hudson H Block Cabernet Franc with Merlot to create 290 cases of Arietta Red Wine, now called Arietta Red Wine H Block Hudson Vineyards.

Our tastings offer a glimpse into the world of making super-premium, small production wines. Just steps away from the crush pad, depending on the time of the year, you will experience the winery at work. Our tasting space offers beautiful views of Lake Larry and the gardens that surround it and the winery.
Enjoy tasting our current release wines with one of our proprietors, Fritz Hatton or Caren Frutig Hatton, or perhaps one of our winemakers! Either way, you can expect a fun and personal experience, complete with the lore and history of Arietta…which is a long one! Please note, reservations are required.
